Seen on the Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme 2017SS Runway, look 35. A reversible tailored jacket built around a longstanding collaboration: Yohji's recurring dialogue with artist Yuka Asakura (朝倉優佳), whose expressive brushwork has appeared across the house's archive for years.

Worn one way, it reads as a single-breasted blazer, wool, notched lapel, black ground broken by a panel of brown discharge-printed (拔染) artwork sweeping across the front. The print softens what would otherwise be a formal cut.

Reverse it, and the jacket becomes a canvas. The silk interior carries Asakura's full painted composition across the back, twin boy figures rendered in black ink with sweeping strokes of green, framed by red-and-white pinstriped sleeves. Two jackets in one, and neither one quiet.
